After 13 months and $16,610 — their response to documented failures was to propose charging again for the undelivered work.
When I submitted a formal evidence package documenting non-delivery across a website build and eight-month SEO programme, Big Red Jelly's response was to propose continuing the retainer at $995/month to complete the outstanding contracted work. Every item in that proposal was already in the original contract. That proposal was their own written admission that eight months of billing had not delivered what was contracted. When I declined and requested a refund, their formal response claimed the Scope of Work had been fully executed — directly contradicted by their own documents. Not one specific failure was acknowledged. I have since spent over 250 hours independently completing contracted work.
What went well
Visual design was professional. Team was personable throughout.
What could be better
Site delivered with commercial content hidden from search engines — contractual purpose impossible from day one Core deliverables marked complete in their own system — found incomplete on independent audit One individual per phase — no technical peer review despite team-marketed process Deflection and deferral when issues raised — never accountability Formal complaint met with proposal to charge again, then a refusal that addressed nothing specific
