Which Marketing Services Do Agencies Bundle Together in 2026?
An analysis of 20 service co-occurrence pairs across thousands of agencies reveals the most common capability bundles in the market.
Advertising and Digital Marketing are the most common service bundle in the agency market, co-occurring at 7,186 agencies, more than twice the frequency of any other pair.
Service bundling is one of the clearest signals of how agencies position themselves competitively. By examining which capabilities appear together inside the same agency, it is possible to map the structural clusters that define the market. This study draws on co-occurrence counts across 20 service pairs recorded from the Pick an Agency directory.
The Dominant Cluster: Advertising, Digital Marketing, Media Buying, and Social Media
The top six most common service pairs all involve combinations of Advertising, Digital Marketing, Media Buying, and Social Media Marketing, suggesting these four services form a dense core cluster. Advertising and Digital Marketing lead with 7,186 co-occurrences, followed by Digital Marketing and Social Media Marketing at 3,921, and Digital Marketing and Media Buying at 3,485.
Within this cluster, every bilateral pairing is represented in the data. Advertising and Media Buying appear together at 2,882 agencies, Advertising and Social Media Marketing at 2,609, and Media Buying and Social Media Marketing at 2,468. Agencies that offer one of these four services appear very likely to offer at least one other member of the group.
The SEO Cluster: Search, PPC, Content, and Web
A second distinct cluster forms around SEO, with five different service partners appearing in the top 20 pairs. PPC Management and SEO co-occur at 660 agencies, SEO and Social Media Marketing at 650, and SEO and Web Design at 631. Content Marketing and SEO appear together at 447 agencies, and Digital Strategy and SEO at 376.
SEO also connects to Web Development at 419 agencies and Web Design pairs with Web Development at 339 agencies, pointing to a practical overlap between search optimisation and the technical or creative build work that supports it. PPC Management and Web Design co-occur at 340 agencies, and Content Marketing and PPC Management at 259, indicating that performance-oriented agencies tend to bundle paid search with content production.
Digital Strategy as a Bridge Service
Digital Strategy appears three times in the top 20 pairs, linking to SEO at 376 agencies, Social Media Marketing at 335, and PPC Management at 258. Its presence across multiple clusters suggests it functions as a connector capability, one that agencies attach to both organic and paid service lines rather than anchoring it to a single cluster.
Content Marketing similarly bridges clusters, appearing alongside SEO at 447 agencies, Social Media Marketing at 356, and PPC Management at 259. This pattern is consistent with content being positioned as a supporting input for search, social, and paid channels simultaneously.
The Gap Between Clusters
The data reveals a sharp volume gap between the two main clusters. The lowest co-occurrence count in the top-cluster pairs is 2,468 (Media Buying and Social Media Marketing), while the highest in the SEO cluster is 660 (PPC Management and SEO). This difference of more than 1,800 agencies between the two groups suggests the Advertising and Digital Marketing cluster represents a substantially larger segment of the directory than the SEO and Web cluster.
This gap may reflect the composition of agencies in the directory rather than a universal market reality, and should be interpreted with that caveat in mind.

Methodology
Co-occurrence counts represent the number of agencies in the Pick an Agency directory that list both named services simultaneously. The data covers 20 service pairs and reflects self-reported service listings, which may undercount specialisms or overcount aspirational offerings.
- Self-reported service tags may inflate co-occurrence for broad or prestigious labels such as Advertising or Digital Marketing.
- Only 20 pairs are included; service combinations not present in this dataset may exist at significant scale but are not analysed here.
